DESCRIPTION: Pocket watches- 2 (Two), English fusee for Clement Davison, New York, Roman numeral white enamel dial with gold hands, key wound and set, engraved gilt movement with Massey II lever escapement, engine turned, sterling silver consular case with Chester hallmark and date letter for 1826, 52mm, together with a fusee movement by M.J. Tobias, Liverpool, for D. Gillis Leonard, Newburgh, N.Y., Roman numeral white enamel dial, gold tulip hands, engraved, gilt movement with Liverpool jewelling, 44mm, c1850
CONDITION: Davison case with tarnish, scratches and wear to engine turning, dial with hairlines, and a chip at 12:00, hands replaced, movement plates with haze, scratches to bright work, running, Tobias dial with minor scratches, hands with minor bends, minute hand with broken tip, barrel bridge with scratches, movement plates with haze and small spots of verdigris, running, maintaining power click catching fusee so the watch will not wind more than 1/4 turn, both watches would benefit from service
